Two scrapbook pages

I sat down last night and got not one, but TWO pages done. Booyah! I am now up to Halloween, and since I'm going in order, I have a little less then a year to catch up on! LOL. Here's the two new pages.

I finally finished another scrapbook page! Yay! Maybe, just maybe, I'll get the 2010 album done before we hit 2012!

I am thinking I'm going to redo my "home" album. There's a lot I've learned and new tools I have that would make it so much better. I really prefer the two page layout look too. More on that later, going to crochet on my bucket.

Scrapbook Update

I have started meeting with friends on Wednesday's to scrapbook. We are going to cut it back to every other Wednesday, but I still think I'll get some pages done! I seem to get more done there, then when I'm at home and easily distracted.

Clean/Dirty Sign

Clean/Dirty sign for the dishwasher. We were often hearing the question "Are these clean??" So, here's the solution!

I thought our dishwasher was metal and put magnetic tape on these, turns out it 's not. So the cheap solution was to use the sticky velcro I had on hand. Not as pretty, but it works!

Scrapbook Ultrasound Pictures

Here's the first pages for Sylvester's 0-1yr album. I got the idea from The Baby Scrapbook Place.

Sorry for the not so great pictures, there's something about the black and white that I just can't seem to get a good picture of. I tried it on the dark wood of the table, the pavement outside and settled on the carpet. Any ideas how to photograph black and white well? I'd love some tips!

Amber Anklet and Yarn Shopping!

Mom and I went yarn and bead shopping today, I had a lot of fun and got some neat stuff. I got cotton yarn and needles at the yarn store and some spacer beads at the bead store. Mom found a ton of stuff she wanted (as she often does) so we had a good trip all around. Here's the stuff I got, I'll try to get some pictures of the stuff she got tomorrow.

I started my Peaches and Cream - Strawberries and Cream dishcloth! I couldn't wait to start it, I'm trying to knit it while nursing, it seems that's going to be my only knitting time for the next week or so. And then Sly will be out of school, woohoooooo!! 

Mom gave me the Amber beads to make this anklet for Sylvester (I plan on making us all some after reading about the beneficial properties of Amber). I'm hoping it will help Sylvester with gas pain, colic, and growing pains. It can also helps with joint pain and all kinds of stomach issues, along with teething in toddlers. I want to find rounder beads to make him one with, so it lays better against his skin, but I wanted to get him something made, so I used these. I love it, I hope it helps him! 

I got my first PAID knitting job this past weekend, I'm going to get paid to knit a pair of mittens and a hat for a friend of mines mother. I'm using the Urban Necessity pattern and Knitpicks Andean Silk (in Cranberry) yarn, I'm so excited. My Knitpicks order shipped today and of course, I didn't just get yarn for this project. ;) The Cricut Cartridges I bought also shipped today, I can't wait to get those. I ordered one to make art for Sylvesters room walls. It's the Dinosaur Tracks cartridge and I'm hoping I can make some cool art work with just these and scrapbooking paper. :) And last, but not least, I ordered a pair of Reebok Easytone sneakers from 6pm.com for Sly, Mom and I. I hope they're comfortable!

Thanksgiving and Crocheting

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We went shopping at midnight to get some cheapo stuff on Black Friday, we do this most years. I really enjoy it and I think it's an exhausting and wonderful ending to a wonderful day. We had family over, and Sly's family even came over. We got some pictures of Little Sly on Thanksgiving (link to pictures) day but Mom and Danny stayed with him that night while we went shopping. Here's a couple just for easy viewing and because I love them. :D

 I also finished a dishcloth a few days ago. It's about the only thing I've actually finished... I've been doing a lot of reading and got some books from the library. I also got my first paid knitting job! WOohooO! I'm using the Urban Necessities (Ravelry link, if you'd rather see it there) pattern and Knit Picks Andean Silk yarn.

On another note, Courtney gave me her Cricut Create! How awesome is that?!?! I'm so excited, I ordered a couple cartridges today off Ebay and I got a couple on Black Friday from Wal-Mart. 

Quick update

Just want to post a quick update before bed. I'm still sick, sadly. Finished my antibiotic today, so I'm assuming it's not bacterial. But I did finish one scrapbook page, completed another one and made 3 thank you cards for gifts sent for the baby. I think they came out great, and I'm going to send them off tomorrow.

We had our last repeat ultrasound this week, and our little one still had his hands covering his face. He was moving around plenty, but he'd drop one hand and raise the other. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't get any really good pictures of his face but we'll see him in a couple months, so I can wait! Sly's Mom bought us a crib, Cassie has sent us a baby wrap to carry him around in and my grandmother sent us clothes. I'm getting more and more excited by the day. I'd say I can't wait to meet him, but my biggest fear is going into labor early, so I hope I don't meet him until he's ready (at 40 weeks).

We also applied for our marriage license today. We'll go pick it up tomorrow and make an appointment with the court house to get married on Friday the 20th. Sly and I both commented on how "short" the lady was when we went in there. She acted more like we were applying to kill someone, over applying to get married. And to top it off, we had to go to the coroners office to apply! Aaawwwkkward.

Monday, Monday!

Ok, so I didn't take any scrapbooking pictures yet, because I have one house page I'm almost done with and one more to make and I want to take pictures of 'em all together. I'm going to go on a font search tonight and see if I can find some cool ones to do journaling with. I've got really horrible hand writing so it just doesn't look good when I write something out. I need to get some better hand writing!

But I do have pictures to share! I have some 3D Ultrasound pictures. We'll get more tomorrow, I've been drinking my water today, though I haven't quite made it to a gallon. I think I'm plenty hydrated, I just hope I can keep from coughing while she's trying to scan. I've caught myself a little cold over the weekend, sore throat, mildly congested nose, slightly light headed and mild headache. Nothing that's going to kill me, just enough to make me feel like crap. What do you say we see some pictures now?

Scrapbooking

I did some scrapbooking this week (I'll try to get pictures Monday) and it was a lot of fun. It takes me a LONG time to get anything done, though. I want to try 47 million different layouts before I decide on one. My first page is very plain, muted colors, no stickers (other then the address). I didn't have a lot, because I didn't want to buy a lot but of course that changed very quickly. I've got all I need, I think, for at least three more pages, I've already sorted out the stuff and got it all together.

We had our 3D Ultrasound this week, but our little man wouldn't move his arm away from his face so we didn't get enough pictures of his face, the tech said. So, we rescheduled and we're going back Tuesday to get some more pictures. I can't wait, I love seeing him, I have to choke back tears every time I go in there. I'm going to get those pictures uploaded Monday at the latest, I meant to upload them this last week but I was having an emotional roller coaster for a week and didn't get a whole lot done that I set out to do. Oh well, we'll blame it on hormones!

We have exactly 20 days until we go to the court house and get hitched! Woohooo! I'm excited. :) Sadly, my Dad can't be there, which is a real bummer but he'll be there next year when we do a ceremony. He'll be coming into town this next weekend, after an interview in GA, I hope he gets this job! That would be so great, I'd love for him to be closer when the baby is born. :)

Sewing this week

I got one project done this week. It didn't come out anything like I'd thought, though. It's a case for Sly's drill bits and what not. The next one I make will be so much better. I learned a lot making this one. When we first laid it out we laid it and measured the exact space needed between drill bits... but we didn't take into account the fact that the fabric has to be able to come up for something to slide into the pockets. That's part of why I love crafting so much, you always learn something with every project. Onto the pictures!

We went to AC Moore yesterday and I finally broke down and bought some scrapbooking stuff. I got an album for the baby and quite a few baby boy stickers, but I obviously don't many pictures to put in that album yet. So, in the mean time I'm going to start working on a "house" album, probably do a couple pages for the house in the building process, then some now that we're getting stuff built and moved in. I think it'll be a neat idea because I'll get to keep updating as we move in more, once our desks are built, one the baby room is set up, etc.

I made some Apple Cinnamon Muffins this week and they turned out really, really bland. They weren't bad, the apples were good, but there just wasn't a lot of flavor at all. I bought five apples, thinking it would take a lot to get a cup and a half of finely chopped apples but it only took one, so I have lots of apples left over! The next time I make them I think I'll use the recipe that has graham crackers in the dough and then cinnamon/sugar on top. I made more banana muffins this morning, those seem to be a favorite around here, which makes me happy.

Sly and I went to the library today and I got books about scrapbooking, baking, figuring my serger out and another pressure cooker cook book. The pressure cooker book has a recipe for three cheese ziti that looks goooood. I also really want to try making black beans soup, because I love it and I think it'd take a lot less time to cook then it does just boiling 'em down for hours.

I went to the OB/GYN today for my 28 week checkup. Everything looks great, I mentioned still going hours without feeling him, so my OB put me on a monitor and his heart rate never dropped or went crazy. So everything looks great. I gained 8lbs since my last visit! Holy crap! I need to watch the eating and start walking, I don't want to gain too much weight. From now on I'll be going every two weeks, which means we're getting closer and closer.

Next time I post I'm going to try to remember to post some about Sly and I getting married. We're getting married on August 20th, which is a Friday. We're going to do a court house wedding since I'm pregnant and then on our first anniversary we're going to have a ceremony, which will be a Saturday.
