Yarn Storage

My Grandmother gave me this cabinet, when she sent it was full of beanie babies, but now... it's full of yarn!
I still need to find a way to store my tools and get the rest of my books down out of the attic. Any suggestions for the needles/hooks?

Happy Wednesday!

Sylvester has spent a lot of time helping Daddy in the garage this last week. They're building front porch chairs. Yay! :D

Sewing this week

I got one project done this week. It didn't come out anything like I'd thought, though. It's a case for Sly's drill bits and what not. The next one I make will be so much better. I learned a lot making this one. When we first laid it out we laid it and measured the exact space needed between drill bits... but we didn't take into account the fact that the fabric has to be able to come up for something to slide into the pockets. That's part of why I love crafting so much, you always learn something with every project. Onto the pictures!

We went to AC Moore yesterday and I finally broke down and bought some scrapbooking stuff. I got an album for the baby and quite a few baby boy stickers, but I obviously don't many pictures to put in that album yet. So, in the mean time I'm going to start working on a "house" album, probably do a couple pages for the house in the building process, then some now that we're getting stuff built and moved in. I think it'll be a neat idea because I'll get to keep updating as we move in more, once our desks are built, one the baby room is set up, etc.

I made some Apple Cinnamon Muffins this week and they turned out really, really bland. They weren't bad, the apples were good, but there just wasn't a lot of flavor at all. I bought five apples, thinking it would take a lot to get a cup and a half of finely chopped apples but it only took one, so I have lots of apples left over! The next time I make them I think I'll use the recipe that has graham crackers in the dough and then cinnamon/sugar on top. I made more banana muffins this morning, those seem to be a favorite around here, which makes me happy.

Sly and I went to the library today and I got books about scrapbooking, baking, figuring my serger out and another pressure cooker cook book. The pressure cooker book has a recipe for three cheese ziti that looks goooood. I also really want to try making black beans soup, because I love it and I think it'd take a lot less time to cook then it does just boiling 'em down for hours.

I went to the OB/GYN today for my 28 week checkup. Everything looks great, I mentioned still going hours without feeling him, so my OB put me on a monitor and his heart rate never dropped or went crazy. So everything looks great. I gained 8lbs since my last visit! Holy crap! I need to watch the eating and start walking, I don't want to gain too much weight. From now on I'll be going every two weeks, which means we're getting closer and closer.

Next time I post I'm going to try to remember to post some about Sly and I getting married. We're getting married on August 20th, which is a Friday. We're going to do a court house wedding since I'm pregnant and then on our first anniversary we're going to have a ceremony, which will be a Saturday.

New template and a new week

Yay for having 4 days off a week! This weekend was hell, for several reasons, but it's over with and I'm ready to enjoy my days off. We're going to do some house improvements, I want to do some sewing and knitting and probably some beading too. I also have an OB/GYN appointment this week for a GTT to make sure I'm not diabetic. I will post more details later, Danny just called and wants to go to lunch so we're going to head out to Summerville and eat some Ryans, woohoo!

And just for good measure, a cute kitten picture.

Shopping trip

Mom and I went on a shopping trip. We went to The Pink Poppy (a bead store, Goodwill (found a cute bag) and The Village Knittery (obviously a yarn store). I got beads to make two pair of earrings, a skein of yarn to make a pair of socks (hopefully for my Dad for xmas), a tunisian crochet hook and my Mom bought me a knitting yarn requirements booklet.

This last week I made some Banana muffins from scratch. I excluded the nuts, because Sly doesn't like 'em, and he said they turned out great!

Here's a picture of Sly feeding the ducks and a cute pictures of the cats, just because I can. LOL.

The house is coming together!

We've got our bedroom set up, curtains up in the bedroom and bathroom. We also have curtains downstairs, and the table and two chairs put together. We've gotten most of the food from the trailer, but we haven't moved the deep freezer yet. We'll do that Monday, I hope. We've got more stuff to move, but it's happening.

The cats are getting more settled, the rabbits see fine with their new home and maybe Ra will get a new cage next week. Here's a couple pictures of the geese we have wandering around, apparently they had babies recently. Speaking of animals, we still have the kitten Sly found. We're litter training him now, which is going fairly well but not awesome. I'd say he uses the cat box 85% of the time, so I watch him pretty closely so if he starts to look or a spot to go to the bathroom I can carry him to the cat box and scratch his paws.

I'll get more pictures soon and I'm going to try to get Sly to take a couple pictures of me now that I'm really starting to show. The baby is kicking up a storm, mostly in the evening hours. Sly finally got to feel him kick the other night, the little "flutters" are starting to turn into knock out, drag out, battles, hehe.

new phone

We bought new phones today, which is pretty cool.

We still haven't heard from the bank, which is driving me insane. But we're going to meet with the guy who is buying the trailer and we're doing the final walk through tomorrow.

A Sunday off?! Has Hell frozen over?

I managed to get this Sunday off, because my Dad is in town. We got to have dinner last night and we're hanging out today. Sadly Donald nor Sly could get off work but I'm going to take them to the house and show them around. Dad also found a broker for the trailer, he's going to make a lot less then what we'd have liked to see, but it means we're out from under it. I'll explain more later when I'm not on the phone.

House update

We went out and saw the house today to have our "pre-drywall" meeting, we talked about outlet placement, security system, etc. I'm going to upload some pictures soon. Going to have a long weekend and then an U/S on Monday to check for down syndrome and spina bifida, it'll be wonderful to see/hear the heart beat and be able to relax. We're now 12 weeks along, only a week or so to go and we're out of the first trimester, woohoo!! I will upload U/S pictures when I get off work Monday night. :D
